Over 3 exhibition days, the event successfully attracted 407 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions and 8618 trade visitors.

Ho Chi Minh City, 30 March 2018ProPak Vietnam 2018 and Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2018 ended on the 22nd March 2018, leaving many good impression on exhibitors and trade visitors as well as accurately reflecting  the strong development of Vietnamese packaging and plastics industries.

The show recorded an impressive attendance of 8618 trade visitors from 31 countries and regions - a healthy increase of 8.1 per cent from the previous edition, with 1049 group delegations from many well-known companies such as Ki-Works VN, Shiseido, Nestle, Uni-President Viet Nam, Polifilm Viet Nam, Kirin Vietnam, CJ Food Vietnam, Fuji Tekko, Samsung Electronic Vietnam, Nissei Electronic Vietnam, etc.

The 13 international group pavilions from Germany, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, China, Italy, etc. anchored the event with major local distributors and technology integrators.  Throngs of industry visitors scoured ProPak Vietnam and Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2018 to source, with intentions to stay abreast of the cutting-edge technologies, smart robots, innovations on offer, forge new business partnerships as well as strengthen their existing industry relationships.

The 12th edition was largest annual trade show of its kind in Vietnam, showcasing a wide spectrum of top-notch products and services catering to the country’s ever growing food, drink and pharmaceutical sectors, with new materials and technologies of plastics and rubber parts production. Exhibitor satisfaction was remarkably high, with many “SOLD” signs being seen on the exhibition floor, the indication of the successful exhibition participation.

And I realize that this 2018 edition has made significant progress in terms of scale and quality of visitors. The number of visitors has increased tremendously compared to last year. The booths are eye-catching and professionally managed with a huge selection of machinery, equipment and best-of-breed solutions on display. I am very pleased about this exhibition so far and it is certain that we will come back next year taking up even larger exhibit space.”

Positive feedback from trade visitors

Mr. Nguyen Hieu Nghia - Internal Training Leader, Nestle Vietnam shared: “Our group delegation to ProPak Vietnam this year consists of 17 members.  All of them, who either has visited the exhibition before or not yet to visit, have been extremely surprised with the scale and quality of ProPak Vietnam 2018. We are primarily interested in gaining more insights and knowledge about the packaging technology and lubricants used for our manufacturing operations. By and large, the exhibition has met the needs of our visit and hence, Nestle Vietnam will certainly send more delegations to ProPak Vietnam in the coming years.”

Ms. Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Executive, Shiseido Vietnam: “We have been familiar with ProPak Vietnam for many years. The purpose of our visit is to search for a number of new machines and equipment for packaging and printing. Mr. Wang Chiu Jen, Director of Food production department, Uni-President (Vietnam) Co., LTD: “We come from instant noodles division of Uni-President (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., and our main field of activity is food production. The purpose of our visit to ProPak Vietnam 2018 is to learn more about processing, printing and packaging technologies. However, this edition in combination with Plastics & Rubber Vietnam has given us the opportunity to find a number of other product lines that are essential to our production needs. Highly appreciate the unwavering efforts of the organizers, who have always welcomed our delegations in a very warm and professional way, leaving us inspired with many good and fruitful results.”

An industry platform for business networking and knowledge sharing

Not merely a product showcase, the three-day trade event was also packed with concurrent educational programs, gathering more than 280 delegates and industry experts, where delegates were able to learn, network and get immersed in industry insights and topical debates, as well as facilitated business and information exchange.

The “Vietnam food engineering symposium 2018: New development in research and application of food processing and packaging technologies”  conference organized by the Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology (VAFoST) was attracted 80 delegates and trade visitors.  The conference noted the prominent presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tunyarut Jinkarn - Head of Department of Packaging and Material Technology, Kasetsart University, Mrs. Le Thi Thanh Lam - Deputy General Director, Saigon Food and the orthers one.

Lean Six Sigma Network was also onboard with two seminars entitled “Certified reference materials CRM: Demand, supply and market equilibrium” and “Improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) through Lean and TPM”, hosted by renowned industry speakers - Dr. Nguyen Huu Thien, Former General Director, The Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (Ministry of Science and Technology), Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Testing Laboratories (VINALAB); Dr. Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Head, Laboratory of Physico-Chemical Parameters & Reference Materials of VMI; and the other well-known industry leaders.

Multi Engineering Solutions Laboratory (MESLAB) organized a conference at Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2018 entitled “Accelerated Product Development Technologies for Lean Star-up” with 55 delegations. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Tran Anh Tuan - CEO & Founder MESLAB R&D, Lecturer of Dongguk University, Korea.

The 14th edition – ProPak Vietnam 2019 is slated to return from 19 to 21 March 2018 at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC). And for the first time, Plastics and Rubber Hanoi 2019 will be held in Hanoi from 27th – 29th November at the Hanoi International Centre for Exhibition.

“We are pleased to announce the launch of Plastics and Rubber Vietnam, Hanoi 2019 to service the northern Vietnamese market – making the Plastics and Rubber Vietnam event an annual event alternating between Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi to cater to the industrial manufacturing growth of both regions.

For future editions of ProPak Vietnam we hope to further expand the scope of the event, to feature stronger printing and converting sectors and to increase the profile of beverage technologies alongside the current product range.
